IVFD Cumulative live birth rates following a ‘freeze-all’ strategy: a population-based study
This study presents population-based evidence on clinical efficacy associated with a ‘freeze-all’ and ‘fresh-transfer’ strategy. The ‘freeze-all’ strategy may benefit some subgroups of patients, including women who are high responders and those who are at risk of OHSS, but should not be offered universally. Clinicians should consider the potential impact of electively deferring embryo transfer on treatment discontinuation in choosing the optimal

IVFD Risk of cancer in infertile women: analysis of US claims data
WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS: Using claims-based data, we report that infertile women may have a higher risk of certain cancers in the years after infertility evaluation: continued follow up should be considered after reproductive goals are achieved.

IVFD Oxygen concentration alters mitochondrial structure and function in in vitro fertilized preimplantation mouse embryos
WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS: This study suggests that changes in the mitochondria may be part of the mechanism by which lower oxygen concentration leads to better embryo development and further emphasize the importance of mitochondria as a locus of reprogramming.

IVFD Clinical implications of mitochondrial DNA quantification on pregnancy outcomes: a blinded prospective non-selection study
WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS: This is the first investigation to evaluate the clinical impact of increased mtDNA in a prospective blinded manner. Results confirm that embryos with elevated mtDNA rarely implant, supporting its use as a viability biomarker. A total of 64% of euploid blastocysts with normal/low mtDNA implanted versus 60% for the cohort as a whole.

IVFD Looking into the Test Tube: The Birth of IVF on British Television
The birth of Louise Brown, the world’s first ‘test-tube baby’, has come to signify the moment at which technologically assisted human reproduction became a re ality. This was a highly mediated and visible reality, as this article explores through the example of a British television documentary about Louise Brown broadcast when she was just six weeks old, ‘To Mrs Brown… A Daughter’ (Thames Television, 1978).

IVFD Reproductive Politics in Twentieth-Century France and Britain
. Taken as a whole, the special issue shows that the border between France and Britain was more porous than is typically apparent from nationally-focused studies: ideas, people and devices travelled in both directions: communication strategies were always able to evade the rule of law: contraceptive practices were surprisingly similar in both countries: and religion loomed large in debates on both sides of the channel.

IVFD Progesterone elevation on the day of hCG trigger has detrimental effect on live birth rate in low and intermediate ovarian responders, but not in high
The study found that PE has a detrimental effect on LBRs in low to intermediate ovarian responders rather than in high responders. The cut-off values for PE were 1.0 :ng/mL and 2.0 :ng/mL for low and intermediate ovarian responders, respectively. The different associations between PE and LBRs according to ovarian response could more accurately predict the prognosis of the IVF cycle and could be used to optimize the treatment of patients

IVFD Neonatal and maternal outcome after frozen embryo transfer: increased risks in programmed cycles
Conclusion: No significant difference could be seen regarding preterm birth and low birth weight between the different protocols. However, higher rates of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, postpartum hemorrhage, postterm birth and macrosomia were detected in programmed cycles. Stimulated cycles had outcomes similar to natural cycles. These findings are important in view of the increasing use of frozen cycles and the new policy of freeze-all cy
