Development of computer-assisted sperm analysis plugin for analyzing sperm motion in microfluidic environments using Image-J
Current CASA systems are not capable of analyzing motion of sperm cells in microfluidic devices where both sperm cells and the liquid itself are constantly moving, contrary to the conventional situation of sperm cells moving in a stationary liquid.
Air quality in the assisted reproduction laboratory: a mini-review
Thus, a laboratory’s ability to culture, biopsy, and freeze blastocysts is a rate-limiting step that depends on technical proficiency and a supportive and stable culture environment based on a foundation of high-quality ambient air. This review aims to describe how evidence for the importance of air quality, in particular the role of volatile organic compounds (VOC), has resulted in an evolution of clinical practice that has arguably contributed
Lack of carbon air filtration impacts early embryo development
The absence of carbon filtration in an IVF laboratory air handler is associated with poor fertilization and early embryo development for fresh cycles. Because development of previously frozen pronuclear stage embryos was unaffected, the lack of carbon filtration may preferentially affect embryos in the peri-fertilization period. Carbon filtration is an integral part to a successful human in-vitro fertilization laboratory.
Quality control in the ART laboratory: matters arising
Capsule: From the macro to the micro, air quality looms as a major determinant for the realization of developmental competence in human embryos. The question becomes a matter of how long we should keep the conceptus ex vivo.
The crucial role of zona pellucida in cryopreservation of oocytes by vitrification
Our results show that the presence of an intact ZP could significantly improve the post-vitrification survival of oocytes to 92.1% from 13.3% for oocytes without ZP. Moreover, there was no significant difference in embryonic development between fresh and cryopreserved oocytes with ZP after in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Validation of microSecure vitrification (μ::S-VTF) for the effective cryopreservation of human embryos and oocytes
The microSecure vitrification (μ::S-VTF) procedure is a low-cost, non-commercial, aseptic, closed system that offers technical simplicity and repeatability, while effectively attaining an estimated 4:1 warming-to-cooling rate ratio, which supports excellent embryo survival and sustained viability.
Cell-free DNA in Human Follicular Microenvironment: New Prognostic Biomarker to Predict in vitro Fertilization Outcomes
Finally, FF cfDNA level was an independent and significant predictive factor for pregnancy outcome (adjusted odds ratio = 0.69 [0.5: 0.96], p = 0.03). In multivariate analysis, the Receiving Operator Curve (ROC) analysis showed that the performance of FF cfDNA in predicting clinical pregnancy reached 0.73 [0.66–0.87] with 88% specificity and 60% sensitivity. CfDNA might constitute a promising biomarker of follicular micro-environment quality whi

Vit Kit - Warm NX is an adaptable, cost-effective system for use in the thawing of oocytes, pronuclear zygotes, cleavage stage embryos, and blastocyst stage embryos. Unlike many vitrification kits that feature a mono-buffered system and M199 base med
Vit Kit - Freeze NX is an adaptable, cost-effective system for use in the vitrification of oocytes, pronuclear zygotes, cleavage stage embryos, and blastocyst stage embryos. Vit Kit - Freeze NX is the latest advancement in vitrification media aimed t
S-Cryolock is the slimmer version of the original. It is a versatile, simple and efficient vitrification device that is intended for the holding, cryopreservation and storage of oocytes or embryos in liquid nitrogen.
