IVFD Cohort study of perinatal outcomes of children born following surgical sperm recovery
Overall these results are reassuring, suggesting high live birth rates regardless of diagnosis or sperm source, although there may be higher miscarriage rates in cases of non-obstructive azoospermia. Other perinatal outcomes were not affected by diagnosis or sperm source.

IVFD Shortened equilibration time can compromise clinical outcomes in human embryo vitrification
The results show that there were no differences in terms of survival rate and fully intact embryo rate among the four groups. However, lower clinical pregnancy, embryo implantation and live birth rates were observed in the 5–6 ::min exposure group (54.6%, 31.9% and 48.2%, respectively) compared with the three other groups. This study indicated that different equilibration times influenced the clinical outcomes of human embryo vitrification.

IVFD Does poor ovarian response to gonadotrophins predict early menopause? A retrospective cohort study with minimum of 10-year follow-up
A total of 219 women (64 poor responders, 155 good responders) returned their questionnaires. Poor responders were more likely to have premature menopause (3% vs. 0%: p := :.024). A higher proportion of poor responders experienced early menopause (11% vs. 3%: p := :.044). Poor response to gonadotrophins in the context of IVF treatment is a marker of reduced ovarian reserve and is associated with early menopause.

IVFD The impact of progesterone supplementation on pregnancy rates after intrauterine insemination in patients developing a single follicle
The objective was to determine whether progesterone support affects pregnancy rates in patients who develop a single follicle. This was a non-randomized prospective controlled study performed on 591 intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles that developed a single follicle: 337 women received 100 :mg oral progesterone daily. The pregnancy rate was 24.3%, or 82 out of 337, in the group receiving progesterone support compared with 14.96%, or 254

IVFD Gray level Co-occurrence Matrices (GLCM) to assess microstructural and textural changes in pre-implantation embryos
Our data provide strong evidence of modified metabolic parameters identifiable as altered fluorescence texture in embryos developed in vitro. Thus, texture-analysis approach may provide a means of gaining additional insight into embryo programming beyond conventional measurements of staining intensity for metabolic markers.

IVFD Peanut butter
-we publish the first-ever randomized controlled trial comparing two different IVF culture media and their effect on birthweight. This high quality intervention study corroborates lower quality evidence from earlier observational studies that showed that—probably via epigenetic interactions—floating as an embryo for only a few days in a culture medium affects the birthweight of IVF children 9 months later [up to 2 years].

IVFD Infertility: Australian scientists work to eliminate hormone injections with IVM treatment
Researchers at UNSW, The University of Adelaide and Free University of Brussels have developed a new growth factor called Cumulin that allows eggs to be retrieved earlier than in IVF, and matured outside the womb. One of the lead researchers on the project, UNSW Associate Professor Robert Gilchrist said it was an alternative treatment which may help eliminate drugs from infertility treatment

IVFD In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Asia-Pacific Market - Opportunities and Forecasts, 2014 - 2020 [This link may be from a sponsor]
In-vitro fertilization is a type of assisted reproductive technology that helps women in conceiving. The Asia Pacific embryo transfer market, valued at $1.9 billion in 2014, is estimated to reach $3.5 billion by 2020. Delayed pregnancy in women is one of the major driving factors of the embryo transfer market, as the chances of conceiving lowers with age. The success rate of getting pregnant with embryo transfer technique is higher in the age gro

Title
Response to stimulation and menopause
Summary
A single clinic study over 10 years has suggested a poor response to stimulation may be a marker of early menopause
Comment
Probably not a surprising study since poor response to stimulation is linked to low AMH and diminished ovarian reserve. One interesting aspect of this study is that with knowledge that if a poor response anticipates an early menopause, does this influence a clinics management of the couple. Since all couples have a preconceived sense of how many children will satisfy their need for a family, would an early menopause encourage a clinic to offer more embryos at transfer even with an increased risk of multiple pregnancy or maybe suggest a quick return to treatment and leave any frozen embryos in storage hopefully to build up a stockpile.
