IVFD A simple and rapid flow cytometry-based assay to identify a competent embryo prior to embryo transfer
Here, we describe such a test, based on flow cytometric determination of the nucleic acid (PI+) containing extracellular vesicle (EV) count in day 5 embryo culture media. - The culture media of 19 out of the 20 “confirmed competent” embryos contained a lower level of PI+ EVs than the cut off level, suggesting that the competent embryo can indeed be identified by low PI+ EV counts.

IVFD Improving ICSI: A review from the spermatozoon perspective
Although some of the techniques show great benefits, there is a need for large scale multicenter randomized control studies to be conducted in order to specify their importance before suggesting horizontal application. Taking into consideration the a priori invasive nature of ICSI, when clinical application becomes a possibility we need to proceed with caution and ensure that in the pursuit for innovation we are not sacrificing safety and the bal

IVFD Predicting the clinical outcome of ICSI by sperm head vacuole examination
Percentages of normal morphology grade spermatozoa using the standard classification and first-best morphology grade spermatozoa determined by SHVE were not significantly associated with (i) delivery (p=0.58: 0.90 /area under curve (AUC) =0.532: 0.507), (ii) fertilization (p=0.88: 0.90), (iii) top-quality embryos (p=0.27: 0.98), and (iv) good quality embryo rates (p=0.73: 0.98), respectively. In conclusion, high magnification SHVE and standard sp

IVFD miR-142-3p as a biomarker of blastocyst implantation failure - A pilot study
Conclusion: Our findings suggest that miR-142-3p, previously described as a tumor suppressor and cell cycle inhibitor, may be a potential biomarker of blastocyst implantation failure. The identification of miRNAs on individual culture medium samples offers unique opportunities for non-invasive early diagnosis of blastocyst implantation.
