IVFD Global DNA methylation levels are altered by modifiable clinical manipulations in assisted reproductive technologies
We show that two clinically modifiable factors (embryo culture in 5 vs 20% oxygen tension and fresh vs frozen embryo transfer) are associated with global placental methylation differences. Interestingly, males appear more vulnerable to such treatment-related global changes in DNA methylation than do females.

IVFD Experiences of Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) in Sweden: a Three-Year Follow-Up of Men and Women
The results show that men and women three years after PGD are still psychologically affected by their experience. The men and women raised concerns that their relationship had been affected, both positively and negatively, and feelings of anxiety and depression still remained. Healthcare services should recognize the heterogeneous nature of the group being studied and therefore the need for counselling can arise at different times and in relatio

IVFD Cost-effectiveness of ‘immediate IVF’ versus ‘delayed IVF’: a prospective study
The CE ratio, i.e. the incremental costs of immediate versus delayed IVF per extra live birth, is the highest (range of €15 000 to >€60 000) for couples with unexplained infertility and for them depends strongly on female age and the duration of infertility, whilst being lowest for endometriosis (range 8000–23 000) and, for such patients, only slightly dependent on female age and duration of infertility.

IVFD Reproductive considerations in the setting of chronic viral illness
Special considerations must be taken when patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), Hepatitis B, or Hepatitis C desire to achieve pregnancy. Patients with chronic viral illnesses desire children at rates similar to the general population, and options are available to decrease both vertical transmission and viral transmission between partners.

IVFD How much is a child worth? Providers’ and patients’ views and responses concerning ethical and policy challenges in paying for ART
These data suggest that individuals have difficulty translating profoundly life-altering, deeply personal quests for meaning and fulfillment into purely economic terms. These findings thus have important implications for future policy, practice, research, and patient and provider education.

IVFD Pregnant after assisted reproduction: a risk pregnancy is born! 18-years perinatal outcome results from a population-based registry in Flanders, Belgi
IVF/ICSI singletons had a significantly worse outcome when compared to Stumulated and Control for almost all investigated perinatal parameters. IVF singletons were also significantly disadvantaged for prematurity and low birth weight when compared to Controls.

IVFD Genetic evidence of ‘genuine’ empty follicle syndrome: a novel effective mutation in the LHCGR gene and review of the literature
Specifically, at a concentration <1 IU/ml, the mutant was activated by hCG stimulation but partially resistant to LH stimulation: at a higher concentration (>1 IU/ml), the mutant was activated by both hCG and LH. These data suggest that screening for mutations in the LHCGR gene may assist in the diagnosis of patients with GEFS. The literature describing the relationship between phenotype and genotypes in females is reviewed, and possible aetiolo

IVFD Ovarian stimulation protocols for IVF: is more better than less?
These protocols typically use lower doses (≤:150 :IU/day), shorter duration of exogenous gonadotrophins, or both, compared with conventional protocols, with the goal of limiting the number of retrieved oocytes to less than eight. The pregnancy rate per cycle (fresh embryo transfer only) is lower with mild stimulation compared with conventional stimulation: however, the cumulative pregnancy rate seems to be comparable between the approac

In conclusion, luteal GnRH antagonist pretreatment improves ovarian stimulation parameters and reproductive outcomes in poor ovarian reserve IVF patients. The clinical pregnancy rate per cycle was 22.2% vs. 13.2% (p=0.195) in the AFLA and FLA groups, respectively.
