Reproductive Factors and Incidence of Heart Failure Hospitalization in the Women’s Health Initiative
Conclusions: In post-menopausal women, shorter total reproductive duration was associated with higher risk of incident HF, and nulliparity was associated with higher risk for incident HF with preserved ejection fraction. Whether exposure to endogenous sex hormones underlies this relationship should be investigated in future studies.
High FSH dosing is associated with reduced live birth rate in fresh but not subsequent frozen embryo transfers
Fresh LBR is negatively impacted by a high dose of total FSH used, as compared to the LBR in subsequent paired FET cycles. Frozen transfer LBR seems unaffected by the total FSH dose used in the fresh cycle, suggesting that the endometrium may be adversely affected, probably indirectly, by high dose gonadotropin use in the fresh IVF cycle only.
Here we present a brief overview of the techniques used in proteomic analyses and attempt a comprehensive presentation of recent data from mass spectrometry-based proteomic studies in humans, regarding all components of ARTs, including the male and female gamete, the derived zygote and embryo, the endometrium and, finally, the ART offspring both pre- and postnatally.
Top quality blastocyst formation rates in relation to progesterone levels on the day of oocyte maturation in GnRH antagonist IVF/ICSI cycles
Our study is the first to investigate the top quality blastocyst formation rate in relation to progesterone levels in IVF/ICSI cycles, showing that increasing progesterone is associated with lower rates of top quality blastocyst. Hence, the advantages of prolonging COS to maximize the number of collected oocytes might eventually be hindered by a decrease in top quality blastocysts available for transfer, if increasing progesterone levels are obse
Findings from new research may finally resolve, and potentially provide answers, as to why older women have higher incidences of miscarriage and have babies with chromosomal abnormalities.
‘Adopted’ embryo program produces new style extended families
Scientists are researching the emergence of a new style of family creation that sees couples "adopt" embryos and, after the child is born, remain in contact with the donors and in many cases develop a special relationship with them.

Oil-Based or Water-Based Contrast for Hysterosalpingography in Infertile Women
Rates of ongoing pregnancy and live births were higher among women who underwent hysterosalpingography with oil contrast than among women who underwent this procedure with water contrast.
Maternal age-dependent APC/C-mediated decrease in securin causes premature sister chromatid separation in meiosis II
These findings show that maternal ageing compromises the oocyte SAC–APC/C axis leading to a decrease in securin that ultimately causes sister chromatid cohesion loss. Manipulating this axis and/or increasing securin may provide novel therapeutic approaches to alleviating the risk of oocyte aneuploidy in maternal ageing.
