IVFD The effect of light exposure on the cleavage rate and implantation capacity of preimplantation murine embryos
Highlights: (1) The implantation capacity and the immunomodulatory function of embryos exposed to white light for 25 :min or 50 :min is significantly reduced. (2) The harmful effect of white light was partly counteracted by the use of a red filter due to the increased wavelength, of the red light. (3) Based on these data, the use of red filtered light is advisable during embryo manipulation in IVF laboratories.

IVFD Irresponsibly Infertile? Obesity, Efficiency, and Exclusion from Treatment
Many countries tightly ration access to publicly funded fertility treatments such as in vitro fertilisation (IVF). One basis for excluding people from access to IVF is their body mass index. In this paper, I consider a number of potential justifications for such a policy, based on claims about effectiveness and cost-efficiency, and reject these as unsupported by available evidence. I consider an alternative justification: that those whose subfert

IVFD Should ICSI be implemented during IVF to all advanced-age patients with non-male factor subfertility?
Conclusions: This study favors the use of ICSI in the older IVF population in order to increase both the fertilization rate and the number of top quality embryos that result per IVF cycle. Further studies are needed to establish our observations and use ICSI as the preferred approach to overcome egg sperm abnormal interactions related to advanced maternal age.

IVFD Effect of Autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma Treatment on Refractory Thin Endometrium During the Frozen Embryo Transfer Cycle: A Pilot Study
Conclusions: The use of autologous PRP improved the implantation, pregnancy, and live birth rates (LBR) of the patients with refractory thin endometrium. We assume that the ability of autologous PRP to restore the endometrial receptivity of damaged endometrium has some aspects other than increasing the EMT. The molecular basis of the treatment needs to be revealed in future studies.

IVFD Embryo Culture Conditions and the Epigenome
Embryo culture, in contrast to other procedures involved in ART, is obligatory, and has the highest potential for causing alterations in epigenetic reprograming. In this review, we summarize progress that has been made in exploring the effects of embryo culture, culture media, and oxygen tension on epigenetic regulation in the developing embryo.

IVFD Screening for blood born viruses in assisted reproduction: is annual testing necessary?
Conclusions: Primary infection with HBV, HCV, or HIV is an extremely rare event among Israeli infertile patients, and the risk for seroconversion in this population is practically nil. Annual screening of both partners leads to substantial costs and appears to be futile. Our results question the current practice and support increasing the interval between screening tests in low-risk populations.

IVFD Evaluation of the Second Follicular Wave Phenomenon in Natural Cycle Assisted Reproduction: A Key Option for Poor Responders through Luteal Phase Oocy
Our primary results indicate no statistically significant differences with regards to the mean number of oocytes, the maturation status, and fertilization rate between FoPOR and LuPOR in natural cycles. Secondarily, we demonstrate a statistically significant higher yield of oocytes (2.50 ± 0.78 vs. 1.25 ± 0.53), better oocyte maturity status (1.93 ± 0.69 vs. 0.95 ± 0.59) and higher fertilization rate (1.31 ± 0.87 vs. 0.61 ± 0.60) in natural cycle

IVFD Normalized second and fourth finger lengths in male and female partners and IVF cycle outcomes
Results: In the female partner, a longer normalized second finger length of the left (2DLN) hand, reflecting a high intrauterine exposure to oestrogens, was independently and significantly (P := :0.011) associated with obtaining at least one top-quality embryo in a multivariate model. Conversely, in the male partner a longer normalized fourth finger length of the left hand (4DLN), reflecting a high intrauterine exposure to androgens, wa

IVFD Prolonged blastomere movement induced by the delay of pronuclear fading and first cell division adversely affects pregnancy outcomes after fresh embry
Conclusions: Embryos with extended blastomere movement after the first cell division, which is associated with the delay of PN fading and first cell division, have a lower competence to initiate an ongoing pregnancy after fresh embryo transfer on Day 2. Thus, blastomere movement could be a useful predictive parameter for selecting embryos at the early cleavage stage.

IVFD The impact of IVF on birthweight from 1991 to 2015: a cross-sectional study
There has been a progressive BW increase in IVF singletons over time in one large centre with consistent treatment eligibility criteria. This may be a reflection of changes in practice such as undisturbed extended embryo culture to the blastocyst stage, optimized commercial culture media composition, single embryo transfer and ICSI. Moreover, singletons conceived from frozen/thawed embryos had higher birth weights when compared to their fresh emb
