Effect of oocyte donor stimulation on recipient outcomes: data from a US national donor oocyte bank
WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS. Live birth delivery rates remain high with varying amounts of oocytes retrieved in this donor oocyte model. In a vitrified oocyte bank setting, where oocytes are typically sent as a limited number cohort, recipients are not affected by oocyte yields.
PGT‐::A preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies and embryo selection in routine ART cycles: Time to step back?
According to this strategy, a better embryo selection should increase IVF results. In reality, several issues remain unaddressed including the sampling strategy, involving the test outcomes, and the frequent occurrence of embryo mosaicism, affecting the criteria for selection of supposed viable embryos and possibly posing an ethical dilemma
Beauty (quality) is in the eye of the convoluted neural network
In the interim, the development of artificial intelligence platforms to assist in the reading and interpretation of embryo images can achieve the consistency and efficiency introduced to other image-intensive diagnostic fields such as pathology and radiology. One envisions the synergy of big data from the integration of embryo imaging and molecular data and imagines the information future embryologists and clinicians may have for insight into em
Perinatal outcomes after vitrified-warmed day 5 blastocyst transfers compared to vitrified-warmed day 6 blastocyst transfers: A meta analysis
Conclusions: Vitrified-warmed day 6 BT is associated with increased birth weight rather than day 5 BT. There was no difference in gestational age, number of males, premature deliveries, birth defects, and neonatal death, between the two groups. These results concluded that vitrified-warmed day 6 BT has no difference compared with vitrified-warmed day 5 BT in regard to adverse impact on perinatal outcomes.
Endometrial thickness is associated with incidence of small-for-gestational-age infants in fresh in vitro fertilization–intracytoplasmic sperm injecti
Conclusion(s). After fresh IVF/ICSI–ET, the risk of SGA was increased twofold in women with EMT ≤::7.5 mm compared with women with EMT >12 mm. We suggest that women with a thin EMT after obtaining a pregnancy by IVF should receive improved prenatal care to reduce the risk of delivering a SGA infant.
A clinical counseling tool predicting supernumerary embryos after a fresh IVF cycle
A multivariate Poisson regression identified factors predictive of having supernumerary embryos, with age and AMH being the most predictive. Clinical prediction models were developed with acceptable and excellent discrimination.
Non-invasive preimplantation genetic testing (niPGT): the next revolution in reproductive genetics?
Available data suggest that BF and SCM samples frequently provide DNA templates suitable for genetic analyses, offering a potential means of PGT that is less expensive than traditional methods, requires less micromanipulation skill and poses a lower risk to embryos.
Development of automated annotation software for human embryo morphokinetics
Although some differences were found when embryos were considered individually, we found an overall concordance between automated and manual annotation of human embryo morphokinetics from fertilization to expanded blastocyst stage (r2 := :0.92).
Sperm selection in IVF: the long and winding road from bench to bedside. [Downloads as a PDF)
This narrative review included 85 papers and focused on the new available methods and technologies that might shed some light on sperm selection in IVF. It discusses the available data on microfluidic devices, omics profiling, micronuclei studies, sperm plasma membrane markers, and other techniques, such as Magnetic Activated Cell Sorting (MACS), Raman micro-spectroscopy, and artificial intelligence systems. The new techniques herein reviewed off
