IVFD The Cytogenetic Constitution of Human Blastocysts: Insights From Comprehensive Chromosome Screening Strategies
These findings do not support the notion that mosaic chromosome abnormalities are a natural part of embryo development. Mosaic aneuploidies, arising post-zygotically, were detected by various different comprehensive molecular cytogenetic methods, suggesting that the majority of these represent genuine findings.

IVFD Embryo Biopsy Can Offer More Information Than Just Ploidy Status
As a byproduct of increasing infertility cases, the use of medically assisted reproduction (MAR) has increased. As such, the need to gain information regarding the implantation potential of specific MAR preimplantation embryos prior to transfer has become increasingly critical. One potential source of this information is contained in the blastocoel fluid from day 5/6 embryos

IVFD Maternal and perinatal outcomes with COVID 19 A systematic review of 108 pregnancies
Although the majority of mothers were discharged without any major complications, severe maternal morbidity as a result of COVID‐::19 and perinatal deaths were reported. Vertical transmission of the COVID 19 could not be ruled out. Careful monitoring of pregnancies with COVID 19 and measures to prevent neonatal infection are warranted.

IVFD Next-generation sequencing analysis of each blastomere in good-quality embryos- insights into the origins and mechanisms of embryonic aneuploidy in cl
In good-quality embryos, there was a high rate and diverse array of chromosomal abnormalities. Morphological evaluation does not appear to assist in the reduction in meiotic errors from parental origins. Mitotic errors were common, and nondisjunction was found to be the main mechanism causing malsegregation during the cleavage divisions.

IVFD Antioxidants increase [mouse] blastocyst cryosurvival and viability post-vitrification
Results in this study demonstrate that vitrification and warming of blastocysts have significant detrimental effects on embryo histone acetylation and subsequent viability. The presence of antioxidants in the vitrification solutions helps to alleviate the negative effects of cryopreservation.

IVFD What the latest research suggests about the coronavirus in pregnancy [New Scientist]
A GROWING number of case studies suggest that, while pregnant people don’t seem to be at greater risk of the coronavirus, covid-19 is linked to a higher rate of caesareans and preterm births, and the virus may be able to cross the placenta to a fetus.
