Determinants of monozygotic twinning in ART: a systematic review and a meta-analysis
We found blastocyst transfer to be a risk factor for MZT. Hence, the results of this meta-analysis may weaken the previously proposed view that greater experience with blastocyst transfer and improved culture media could decrease the high rate of MZT after blastocyst transfer
Zygotic splitting following embryo biopsy: a cohort study of 207 697 single‐:embryo transfers following IVF treatment
Conclusions: The present study demonstrated an increased risk of monozygotic splitting with embryo biopsy. Given the current sparse literature, it is important to accumulate further evidence to validate the findings.
Effect of Sperm DNA Fragmentation on Embryo Quality in Normal Responder Women in In Vitro Fertilization and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection
Conclusion: In normal responder women, high SDF level resulted in low day 3 embryo formation rates. Our results suggest a paternal effect on embryo quality in IVF/ICSI cycles.
High rates of aneuploidy, mosaicism and abnormal morphokinetic development in cases with low sperm concentration
Lower euploidy rates, higher mosaicism rates and a higher incidence of abnormal morphokinetic development were observed in cases with testicular sperm with female partners ≤: 35 years compared with normal sperm controls
Prospective longitudinal cohort study of uterine arteries Doppler in singleton pregnancies obtained by IVF/ICSI with oocyte donation or natural concep
This finding reproduces our previous discovery of lower UtA-PI in frozen as compared to fresh blastocyst transfer. The vast majority of OD is obtained by the use of cryopreservation. We speculate that increased uterine perfusion may be the physiological response to compensate dysfunctions both in the mother and in the placenta.
Secreted MicroRNA to Predict Embryo Implantation Outcome: From Research to Clinical Diagnostic Application
Here, we review current findings of secreted miRs that have been identified to potentially be useful in predicting implantation outcome using material that can be collected relatively non-invasively. Developing non-invasive biomarkers of implantation potential would have a major impact on implantation failure and infertility.
Randomized controlled trial comparing embryonic quality in rFSH versus hMG in the IVF protocol with GnRH Antagonist
Conclusion: The total embryo score was the same for both groups, but the best embryo score was significantly higher for the rFSH group. Moreover, rFSH was associated with an increased number of embryos.
Sperm source does not affect the ICSI outcome of patients with severely compromised spermatogenesis
Both groups (nonobstructive azoospermia x severe oligozoospermia) were homogeneous for the number of retrieved and injected MII oocytes. No difference was seen in terms of fertilisation, clinical pregnancy and cumulative live birth rates.
Clinical management of mosaic results from preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) of blastocysts
ASRM Today – Document Review: Clinical management of mosaic results from preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) of blastocysts: a committee opinion with Emily Mounts
