IVFD Markers of oxidative stress in follicular fluid of women with endometriosis and tubal infertility undergoing IVF
Increased ROS and NO in endometriosis and tubal infertility associated with poor oocytes and embryo quality. Increased levels of ROS, NO, LPO, cadmium and lead were observed in women who did not become pregnant compared to women who did. Intrafollicular zinc levels were higher in women with endometriosis who subsequently became pregnant following IVF.

IVFD Upper control limit of reactive oxygen species in follicular fluid beyond which viable embryo formation is not favorable
The upper cut-off ROS level beyond which viable embryo formation is not favorable was found to be ∼:107 cps/400 μ:l FF. This level, determined in women with tubal factor infertility, was further validated in women with endometriosis and PCOS and correlated with fertilization and pregnancy rate and embryo quality. Summarizing, a threshold level in FF has been established for the first time beyond which ROS may be considered toxic for viab

IVFD Oocyte efficiency: does live birth rate differ when analyzing cryopreserved and fresh oocytes on a per-oocyte basis?
Our data suggest that while assisted reproductive technology remains an inefficient process, OC may be approaching fresh IVF when live birth is the primary consideration. However, OC may negatively impact the potential for blastocyst formation.

IVFD Bed rest after embryo transfer negatively affects in vitro fertilization: a randomized controlled clinical trial
The statistically significant higher LBI rate shown in our NR group confirms that 10 minutes of bed rest immediately after ET has no positive effect and in fact can be negative for the outcome of IVF with OD. The anatomical/physiological or psychological reasons for this should be explored in future research.

This meta-analysis favors the use of ICSI to increase fertilization rates and decrease the risk of TFF in couples with well-defined unexplained infertility. Further studies are needed to determine the impact on clinical pregnancy and live birth rate.

IVFD Isolation of spermatozoa with low levels of fragmented DNA with the use of flow cytometry and sorting
A novel method has been developed, which not only might improve the outcome of ART, but can also help to clarify the ongoing controversy of the role of DNA fragmentation in male infertility.

IVFD Increased risk of cancer among azoospermic men
Men with azoospermia have an increased risk of subsequently developing cancer, suggesting a possible common etiology between azoospermia and cancer development. Additional follow-up of azoospermic men after reproductive efforts end may be warranted.

IVFD The effect of the biochemical marker soluble human leukocyte antigen G on pregnancy outcome in assisted reproductive technology—a multicenter study
-a positive sHLA-G result was associated with an increase in the odds of an ongoing pregnancy. The incidence of an ongoing pregnancy was 2.52 times greater in embryos transferred on day 3 with a positive sHLA-G test result than the incidence of an ongoing pregnancy in embryos with a negative sHLA-G test result. Conclusion(s):sHLA-G expression is a valuable noninvasive embryo marker to assist in improving pregnancy outcomes-

IVFD Long-term pituitary downregulation before frozen embryo transfer could improve pregnancy outcomes in women with adenomyosis
In down regulation :+ :HRT group, clinical pregnancy, implantation and ongoing pregnancy rates were 51.35%, 32.56% and 48.91%, respectively, significantly higher than that of HRT group (24.83%, 16.07% and 21.38%, respectively). So, we concluded that in FET, long-term GnRH agonist pretreatment significantly improved pregnancy outcomes in patients with adenomyosis.

IVFD The Measurement of Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH)
Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) has long been associated with sexual differentiation in the fetus where in the male it suppresses the development of the female reproductive tracts. More recently it has been shown to be secreted in low concentrations by the granulosa cells of the adult and related to follicular development in the ovary. A number of laboratories are now measuring this hormone as part of IVF treatment and in the investigation of polycy

-a multivariable ordinal logistic regression model suggests a 75% reduction in the odds for higher embryo cell cleavage per μ:g/dL increase in blood Pb (adjusted odds ratio (aOR) 0.25, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.07–0.86). For 15 male partners, each μ:g/L increase in blood Hg (aOR 0.60, 95% CI 0.45–0.79) and μ:g/dL increase in blood Pb (aOR 0.58, 95% CI 0.37–0.91) is associated with a decrease in the analogous odds. IVFD Prenatal bisphenol A and birth outcomes: MOCEH (Mothers and Children's Environmental Health) study
Univariate regression analysis revealed a significant association between BPA levels and birth weight. In adjusted analysis, the second tertile of maternal BPA exposure exhibited an increase in birth weight, relative to the first tertile (p = 0.04). These relationships were more pronounced in male neonates. Also, prenatal exposure to BPA was associated with an increase of ponderal index in total, and especially female neonates.

Many women shape their travel, career and partner choices around a lingering fear they need to start having babies by their mid-thirties. But what if you were told there is no need to rush? IVFD Pioneering ovarian tissue graft helps cancer survivor become pregnant
A woman in Australia has become pregnant with her own eggs following an ovarian tissue transplant seven years after her ovaries were removed during cancer treatment. In a world first, the woman's ovarian tissue, which had been cryopreserved, was grafted onto her abdominal wall where it began to produce eggs. The eggs were then removed, fertilised, and transplanted back into her uterus.

IVFD New hope for treating ectopic pregnancies with drugs, not surgery
Melbourne researchers have found a new way to treat life-threatening ectopic pregnancies, using a cancer treatment rather than surgery. About 5,000 women suffer ectopic pregnancies each year in Australia. In the condition, the embryo attaches inside the fallopian tube instead of the uterus and it can result in fatal internal bleeding.
