About FertAid.

FertAid or Fertility Aid is a private web site established in 1999 to provide new and productive services to all members of the Fertility and Reproductive Science disciplines. The heart of FertAid is the use of data systems to deliver functional utilities.

The first service to be available was a search site (it was a bit premature to call it a search engine) for companies to list their contact and product range. The most important area was released in 2002. FertAid has developed a complex site for the management of internal quality control and external quality assurance systems for andrology and embryology. These pages fall under the title of QAP-online.

More recently, online survey and online continuing education schemes are under development. Online training manuals are on the drawing boards and should be available next year.

It may be apparent that these areas are part of the infrastructural support and infomation that clincal systems should or may need to provide high quality IVF treatment. In many countries, such systems are required by law, but regardless, should be used by clinics world wide.

As a senior scientist invovled in IVF since 1982, I found the Internet to be a powerful medium to create and develop such systems. The site wishes to bridge worker in all countries and societies and all are welcome. FertAid is intended for use by all who are associated with Clinical IVF, pathology scientists, animal husbandry and research workers in all areas of the reproductive sciences. There will be parts of the site where pateints or other browsers may find useful.

If you have a web site that you would like to add to the the Fertaid directory, you are a company who supplies clinics or research laboratories, you run an IVF clinic and wish to promote your services, you wish to advertise a job or society, I have created separate folders within the search engine for you to do this.

If there is an area of your work environment with which FertAid may help, please feel free to contact us.

I would like to welcome you to FertAid.com and trust you find one or more

FertAid Search Facilities.

While other generic search engines such as Goggle, etc. provide a far reaching and almost incomprehensible variety of responses to a search request, FertAid set out to do it differently.

Together with others interested in web development, FertAid set up critical search paths in several areas to assist anyone to find web sites or specific web pages on selected topics. Information has been added to the FertAid database under several categories. The results of a search provide a link to other web sites.

How is Information Stored.

All information is stored under 2 headings.

Name Heading. A search on this data set is on the name of the Resource (Company or clinic name, Society, Resource type, Consultant, etc) and where appropriate by country, region or world wide.

Specific Heading. Company product information, clinical procedure information, society or consultant services or resource primary information is stored under this heading. Data is stored in 4 separate areas

    • Product, procedure or service primary Information (e.g. name of product, type of service, etc.)
    • Short description (200 characters) in a free form text.
    • Web (or e-mail) link to the Company, Clinics web site or to the appropriate page on their web site
    • Larger free form text
    • Allocation to a preexisting category definition

A browser can search on Name, Primary Information, Short Description text or category and where appropriate by country or region.
