IVFD What to do when good-quality embryos repeatedly fail to implant
...Consideration should be given to preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) and the adoption of a “freeze-all” protocol. Treatment offered should be evidence based, aimed at improving embryo quality or endometrial receptivity. Gamete donation or surrogacy may be necessary if there is no realistic chance of success with further IVF attempts.

IVFD IL-1β: predicts IVF outcome: a prospective study
The increasing levels of IL-1β: over time are consistent with the known role of the IL-1 cytokine family in implantation and pregnancy. Additionally, we confirm in a prospective investigation the positive relationship between detectable serum IL-1β: at the start of IVF cycle and outcome.

IVFD Mammalian sperm contain two factors for calcium release and egg activation: Phospholipase C zeta and a cryptic activating factor
Mammalian sperm induce a series of calcium oscillations in the egg at fertilization responsible for triggering the transition to a 1-cell embryo and for blocking polyspermy. Phospholipase C (PLC) zeta is a sperm-specific protein capable of mimicking these fertilization calcium changes through its ability to generate inositol trisphosphate. Here I comment on two recent landmark studies that report on knockout of PLC zeta in mice.

IVFD Undetectable Serum Levels of Anti-Müllerian Hormone in Women with Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome During In Vitro Fertilization and Successful Pregn
We report a unique case of undetectable serum levels of anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) who developed ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) during in vitro fertilization (IVF). A case is described of a 28-year-old woman with clinical symptoms of PCOS and AMH serum level below analytical sensitivity (<1.0 pmol/L).

IVFD Effects of Conception Using Assisted Reproductive Technologies on Infant Health and Development: An Evolutionary Perspective and Analysis Using UK Mil
This suggests that evolved processes that determine which egg and sperm lead to successful pregnancy may be important for offspring quality as indicated by infant development. Clinically, the results suggest that women should avoid ART with artificial gamete selection if they can conceive using other ART methods.
